An honest early preview
The Welsh content has not yet had competent Welsh-language review. Reference checking is not tutor approval. Lesson completion records your activity; it does not certify fluency or a CEFR level.
The core wording is consistent, with relevant regional or register differences labelled. No regional accent is treated as inferior.
About the audio
For now, Speak Welsh uses a Welsh voice supplied by your browser or device. It only plays voices labelled Welsh (cy or cy-GB) and never substitutes an English voice. If none is available, you can continue with written activities and return to listening later.
This temporary speech may sound different across devices and has not been checked by a Welsh speaker. Our long-term aim is consistent, high-quality Welsh audio, including authentic human recordings. Approved recordings will take priority as they become available.
No external account or payment is needed. Depending on the voice, your browser may use an online speech service to read the displayed Welsh text. Speak Welsh does not request microphone access or record your voice.
